Hi Mike,
Just wanted to say I continue to enjoy your blog, even though much of it is over my head. One question, what is the youtube video on your new page that says “beyond static stretching for the hip flexors”? Is that an advanced Z-Health drill? It also looks like elements of resistance stretching or something, with the hand positions, called Eldoa stretching, but my guess is that it is part of Z-Health. Unless I missed it somewhere, is there an explanation of this stretch?
Thanks for the nice comments Jim! Much appreciated!
Feel free to post any comments on things you have questions on or what you would like to see.
I will have a post coming up soon on the video, but it is a Z Health R Phase cross body shoulder circle, done in a kneeling lunge position. It works to “free up” the opposite hip flexor(s), as shown by the increased range of motion
Here is the video

Jim,
In regards to ELDOA, I don’t personally have any direct experience with it; but a good friend and great movement coach who’s opinion I value highly was not impressed.
From what I know about it, I wonder about the impact of the ELDOA moves on the nervous system. As you know, I am not a fan of anything that is painful.
Hope that helps a bit. Feel free to add anything

Thanks Mike,
Does Z-Health have any drills for the sacrum? Or would something like this drill loosen up the hip flexor so the sacrum could be adjusted?
I only ask because I have had everything in my body out of whack for at least a month (again). I ran a very out of balance race on Sunday. Then I tried this video easily on both sides later in the day. Then I did a movement that is supposed to adjust the sacroiliac joint a little while later.

All the tension and imbalances I had were gone that evening and I have felt fantasic and balanced despite lots of running and shoveling all week.
I figure it will fall apart again soon but I am trying to figure out what I did to align things up properly again.
The arm and hand postitioning of this stretch reminds me of Eldoa positioning. I take it the arm movement changes the tension across the hip flexor?
