@Kira: I'm having the same results. Glad you're enjoying it!

Hell ya my friend!

You have stumbled upon one of the coolest things I've found in the past several years.

Some days you have it in you to train hard and make killer progress.

Others days, well, as PJ says, maybe you should watch TV (I vote for read the back articles on this site, heheh) and drink beer (ok, one dark beer is ok).

NOTHING in physiology is linear, nor really predictable---why would we expect training to be any different?

Until now, we did not have a practical tool to use to guide us.

Now we do and we find that the training session lengths will vary widely.

I've had the same thing happen--sessions as short as 15 minutes, hit a PR, was smoked and I left.

Other times, like the other night, well over 2 hours in, hitting most work above 90% 1RM and some rep stuff and we were still playing with KBs at 9:15pm!

Heck, I am off to train again now!

You must listen to your body and coax results, not try to beat them out of it.

Awesome work man! I am so stoked to hear more from others once they get the DVDs in their hands.

Hey Mike,

You've raised an issue that I've found very exciting re testing & PRs ... length of training sessions.

One of the things I love about testing and working around PRs is that it 'unshackles' me from time limits ... AND IT WORKS BOTH WAYS ...

In the past, I'd tend to program a strength session to last between 45 to 90 min ... Two problems with this ... what if I start getting a little tired before the set session finishes, or conversely what happens if I'm still feeling energized at the end of it?

For the former, if I hit a PR 10 minutes in, and I'm feeling a bit tired, or I stop testing well .. I go home ... totally happy 'cos I've taken my body to a place it hasn't gone before (a PR).

For the later, if I'm totally energized by the end of my 'normal' training time, and I'm testing well (and I've got extra time) ... I will keep training ... and training ... and training ... and training :)

Since starting testing I've had sessions as short as 10 minutes and as long as 4 hours ...

Is there any kind of 'regular' way of programming that can account for that kind of 'day to day' body variability? I don't think so!

Cheers :)
