Motivation Monday: Failure Is Required

I love this quote

“Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Awesome!

We actually have to fail in order to succeed.

Not everything we do will work out in our favor.    We have to keep 1) collecting information 2) running experiments (read: do stuff).

I’ve said before that I am no longer impresseed with people that ONLY know a lot.

I am impressed by people that take new information and turn it into action.   That is impressive.

They are willing to test it, and possibly be wrong……and fail miserably at times.

Not the most fun, but it is effective.

Results first.

Try. Fail. Seek. Repeat.

The goal over time is to get more actionable information pointed towards better.

The goal is to not ever fail. The goal is only BETTER.

Fail forward as fast as possible towards better.

Motivation Monday: Brad Gillingham Lifts Monster Weights

WOW! Amazing powerlifting performance by Brad!

Congrats to Big Brad!

In case you don’t know, Brad Gillingham is one of the top, lifetime drug free, lifters in the world. Not to mention an extremely helpful and all around nice guy.

Awhile back, I had my picture taken with Brad, his other brother Karl and World’s Strongest Man competitor Dave Ostlund.   Wow, I have never felt so small in my entire life. Only Karl was about my height (6′3″) and all of them were well over 300 lbs.

Great video by Brad making insane weight LOOK easy!

Motivation Monday: Crazy Old Time Strongman Lift Video

I love watching this video of a lifter doing an old time strongman lift.

Don’t try this at home right away, but awesome to see!  Hat tip to Dr. Stephen Appel in New Zealand for sending this one to me.

Much more coming this week as I am back in town after a wonderful vacation and

The Movement’s Pain class yesterday–wow, AMAZING info Frankie Faires presented.

Really really cool and much more on that coming NEXT week.
